3-Year-Old Girl Dies After Wall Collapse in Gokak; Mother and Sister Injured
A tragic incident was reported from Mahalingeshwar Nagar in Gokak on Monday morning, where a three-year-old girl died after a wall collapsed due to heavy rainfall. Her mother and younger sister sustained injuries in the incident.
According to police, the incident occurred around 7:30 AM. The child, identified as Krithika, was sleeping with her sister Khushi when a wall from a neighbouring house collapsed on them due to continuous rain over the past few days.
Krithika died on the spot. Her mother, Reshma, and Khushi were injured and rushed to Gokak Hospital. They are currently out of danger, officials confirmed.
The wall collapse highlights the growing risk posed by weakened structures during the monsoon season. Locals have urged the municipal authorities to inspect vulnerable buildings in the area to prevent such incidents.
