Belagavi Deputy Commissioner Cancels Dog Sterilisation Centre Plan at Hirebagewadi
Belagavi: Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan has cancelled the plan to set up a dog sterilisation centre at Hirebagewadi village after strong opposition from local residents.
The Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) wanted to shift its small centre in Shrinagar to a bigger, two-acre government plot in Hirebagewadi. But people in the village opposed it, saying it was too close to homes and the Rani Channamma University campus.
BCC environmental engineer Hanumant Kaladagi said the district administration dropped the plan due to these objections. He also said the DC has promised to find another location for the centre.
