Belagavi district in-charge Minister Govind Karjol directs officials to release crop loss & property damage compensation immediately
On Friday, Belagavi district in-charge Minister Govind Karjol chaired a meeting on flood and directed officials to immediately start releasing compensation for crop loss and property damage due to flood.
He also asked the officials to display at the gram panchayat offices details of the survey along with photographs and videos and if there were any objections, they should be verified.
The Minister said that as most of the reservoirs were not full yet, water should not be released from them. He asked the Deputy Commissioner to submit a comprehensive report on rain damage to the government.
In addition, he requested that the officials submit a proposal for the installation of a rain gauge at the Kallol Barrage and promised to approve it right away after receiving the proposal.
The Minister brought up the ongoing issues with Ballari Nala and instructed the staff to produce an extensive report and submit it. He also emphasized the necessity of a combined survey by the departments of large, medium, and small irrigation systems.
Four rehabilitation centres in the Athani Taluk, he claimed, had been unoccupied for a while, and if individuals wished to move willingly now, officials should find and set aside 4,000 residential sites for them. He suggested that facilities for the supply of drinking water could be offered as part of the Jal Jivan Mission.
