Big News for Belagavi: 4.5 km Long Flyover Gets Green Light – Here's What You Need to Know!

Exciting News for Belagavi Residents: A 4.5 km long flyover (elevated road), is in the works to ease traffic from National Highway-48 to Rani Chennamma Circle. Recently, a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner's office, led by DC Nitesh Patil, discussed the project's details, with various officials present.

The flyover is a much-needed solution to our city's growing traffic problems, ensuring smoother traffic in the future. Once finished, it will ease traffic between major junctions - Ashoka Circle, R.T.O Circle, and Rani Chennamma Circle.

DC Nitesh Patil highlighted that the flyover's design will consider the new super specialty hospital and the new district collector's office complex.

Here are some key project details:
  • The flyover will stretch from National Highway (NH-48) through Sankam Hotel, Ashoka Circle, RTO Circle, and extend to Kittur Chennamma Circle.
  • "Rotaries" will be built at Ashoka Circle and Kittur Chennamma Circle for better traffic flow.
  • Ramps near the Central Bus Stand will connect to RTO and Mahantesh Nagar road.
  • RTO Circle will have three ramps, connecting Rani Chennamma Circle, Krishna Devaraya Circle (Kolhapur Circle), and the bus station.
  • A proposed service road will connect Belagavi Airport through a Road Over Bridge (ROB).
  • Rani Chennamma Circle, at the city center, will showcase grand arches on connecting roads, making it the longest flyover in the area, spanning 4.5 km.
To execute the project effectively, cooperation from BSNL, Hescom, KSRTC, and Urban Water Supply Board is crucial. Temporary relocation of respective department systems within the project's framework has been instructed by DC Nitesh Patil.
