Chief Minister Siddaramaiah presented his 14th Budget today, outlining several initiatives aimed at the development and growth of the state. Among the various announcements made, the budget speech highlighted the inclusion of Belagavi, a prominent district in Karnataka.

A total of Rs.155 crore will be provided to operationalize super specialty hospitals and burns care centers in Mysuru, Kalaburgi and Belagavi districts.

Addressing the issue of drinking water scarcity, the Chief Minister emphasized the implementation of 172 schemes for filling tanks by lifting water from reservoirs. As part of these initiatives, 19 tank filling projects will be completed at a cost of Rs. 770 crore. These projects will benefit 899 tanks across various districts, including Belagavi, enhancing the availability of clean water for irrigation and domestic use.

To support the educational infrastructure, the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences plans to establish state-of-the-art skill labs, research centers, and indoor sports facilities in multiple districts, including Belagavi. Additionally, the university will set up colleges of Allied Health Sciences in Kalaburgi and Mysuru districts, further promoting quality education and career opportunities for students in these areas.

The budget also focuses on skill development training for minority youths, with an allocation of Rs. 4 crore. Ramanagar, Belagavi, Davangere, Kalaburagi, and Dakshina Kannada are the districts selected for implementing these training programs, aimed at empowering the youth and enhancing their employability.

In a bid to boost the small-scale industry sector, the Karnataka State Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC) will establish new industrial estates in seven locations, including Kanagala in Belagavi. These initiatives will foster entrepreneurship, create job opportunities, and contribute to the economic growth of the region.

Furthermore, the budget emphasized strengthening the Rehabilitation Centres responsible for the protection and care of injured animals during man-animal conflicts. Existing centers in Bannerughatta and Mysuru will be enhanced, and new rehabilitation centers will be constructed in Shivamogga and Belagavi. These efforts highlight the government's commitment to wildlife conservation and welfare.

Lastly, the comprehensive development of the tourist destinations in the Kitturu Karnataka Region, particularly the Savadatti Yellammana Gudda, was underscored. The introduction of 3D projection, multimedia, sound, and light show programs at various protected national monuments, including the Kittur fort, aims to promote night tourism and showcase Karnataka's rich art, architecture, and cultural heritage.

With the allocation of funds and implementation of various development projects, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's budget prioritizes the growth and well-being of Belagavi, ensuring progress and prosperity for its residents and the state as a whole.
