Minister Karjol convenes meeting to discuss various developmental works in Belagavi; Garbage Mismanagement And Poor Condition Of Roads also discussed

Minister Govind Karjol convened a meeting to discuss the various developmental works in the Belagavi.

Key focused particularly on the following projects:

·         Land acquisition of Belagavi-Dharwad new railway line.

·         Bagalkote-Kudachi new railway line’s status update.

·         National Highway projects related to Belagavi district.

·         Upgrading the Belagavi Airport to International Airport.

·         Bellary Nala project.

·         Kalasa Banduri project.

 

In this meeting, the need of concretization of Chorla route was also discussed. “Regarding the development of Chorla road, we have discussed with the Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and the Collector and other officials have been asked to prepare a proposal”, Karjol said.

 

Due to the poor quality of roads the accidents in the city have increased. Mp’s raised issue.  

A six-lane road from Belgaum to Sankeshwar should be built, and the two-lane road at Sambara should be upgraded to four lanes. The Minister stated that it has been forwarded to the central government, and that the central authority will also grant approval for this task.

 

MLA Benke raised the issue of the poor condition of the roads in the city. Belgaum-Dharwad, Kolhapur-Dharwad roads are very damaged and these roads are affecting the city, he said. The state government should submit the proposal for an international airport to the Airport Authority and the Civil Aviation Department, according to director Rajesh Kumar Maurya. Karjol also pledged his support for a 100-acre expansion of the runway.
