PM to inaugurate projects worth Rs 2,252 crore in Belagavi - Govind Karjol

District minister Govind Karjol said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects totalling Rs 2,252 crore in Belagavi on February 27.


Karjol said that Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the upgraded Belagavi railway station, which cost Rs 190 crore.


He will also inaugurate the Belagavi-Londa double railway line for Rs 932 crore.


Apart from that, he will lay the foundation of the project under the Jal Jeevan Mission in the cost of Rs 1,130 crore. This project will provide potable water to 7 lakh people.


Karjol said Modi will address a public gathering at Malini Nagar too. “We are expecting around 3 lakh people from the Belagavi constituency. He will release grants under the Kisan Samman Yojna on the dais. Around 5.1 lakh farmers of Belagavi will benefit from from Rs 102 crore Yojna. The Centre releases Rs 6,000 to each farmer in three instalments every year. In addition, the state adds Rs 4,000. So, each farmer gets total Rs 10,000 annually,” he said.


Karjol said there will be a 6-km road show for Modi in Belagavi. The show will begin from the CPED Ground and conclude at a public gathering spot in Malini Nagar. “The PM will arrive to Belagavi around 1 pm,” he said.

Union minister Pralhad Joshi said in Dharwad on Friday that Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the campus of IIT Dharwad at Mummigatti on March 11.


The event will be held at 3pm on March 11. The minister said Modi will do a bhoomi puja for various development works funded by the Centre and the state
