Sambra Airport sees 25% increase in footfall in May compared to April

According to the Airports Authority of India, the Belagavi Airport at Sambra experienced a significant increase in passenger traffic in May compared to previous months. In May alone, the airport saw 23,304 passengers, which is a 25% increase from the 18,922 passengers in April.

This means that around 4,300 additional passengers utilized the airport in May. The total number of aircraft movements recorded at the airport in May was 538. Additionally, approximately one tonne of cargo movement was registered.

The trend of increasing passenger traffic has been consistent throughout the year. In January, the airport served 16,637 passengers with 387 aircraft movements. This number gradually rose, reaching 23,304 passengers and 538 aircraft movements in May, as reported by the AAI.
