Star Air and IndiGo to Launch Daily Belagavi-Mumbai Flights This March

Air connectivity for North Karnataka is set for a significant upgrade as both Star Air and IndiGo have announced the launch of daily direct flights between Belagavi and the Mumbai metropolitan region starting in late March 2026. This dual-airline expansion marks a major recovery for the city’s aviation sector, which had seen a temporary dip in direct links to India’s financial capital.

The first of the two services will be operated by Star Air, which is scheduled to resume its popular morning flight to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) starting March 26. This service is specifically tailored for business travelers, featuring a 7:20 AM departure from Belagavi that arrives in Mumbai at 8:25 AM. The return leg departs Mumbai at 7:45 PM, allowing professionals to complete a full day of work in the city before returning home the same night.

Following closely, IndiGo will introduce a new daily service starting March 29, targeting the growing Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI). This flight is scheduled for an evening departure from Belagavi at 5:35 PM, landing in Navi Mumbai at 6:45 PM. By utilizing the new Navi Mumbai hub, IndiGo provides a strategic alternative for travelers heading to the city’s eastern suburbs, industrial belts, and the Konkan region. The airline will deploy its ATR 72-600 aircraft for this route, ensuring a reliable and efficient short-haul experience.

The restoration and expansion of these routes follow persistent advocacy from local industrial bodies and Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar. Beyond Mumbai, IndiGo is also enhancing regional connectivity by adding an additional daily frequency to Hyderabad starting March 29. These developments are expected to provide a substantial boost to local commerce, particularly for the city’s manufacturing and foundry sectors, while offering easier access for students and medical patients traveling to Mumbai’s premier institutions.
